When we first came up with the idea of developing our wildlife cams, we figured that if there was going to be anything ruin the idea, it was going to be those ##!**!! squirrels. Fortunately, it was an unfounded fear. Of the thousands of Hawk Eyes, Night Owl, and Red Robin nature cams sold, we've had only four or five reported instances of cable damage.
If you do see a squirrel paying unwanted attention to the cable you might put a bit of motor oil on a rag and rub the cable down with it. It's our guess squirrels don't like oil.
